Mental Get Away

It’s January 28, 2014 and the current temperature is 8 degrees.  Our forecast is for the temperature to feel like 15 to 20 degrees below zero.

I found this picture in an old calendar from last year and glued it into my creative journal this morning.  And the poetry flowed.  (See below)

Hope you enjoy…

Walking on the beach,                                                  Water lapping on my toes,

Troubles far away,                                                         Pain releases from my body,

Left home to be forgotten.                                          Hopefully forevermore.

Slight breeze blowing through my hair,

                                            Fog receding from my brain.

I wanted the above single spaced, but I have absolutely no idea how to make that happen.  Any suggestions?

Today I’m grateful for:

1.  Pictures of beautiful places to escape into mentally.

2.  I have heat and food to eat today.

3.  I don’t have to be anywhere in this weather.

  1. The weather is the same here. I do this all the time! I watch beach videos, keep tropical pictures on my phone, etc. Thanks for this beautiful picture 🙂

  2. Lovely poem. If you want single space, try removing the “enters” and then replacing them with “shift + enter.”

  3. I remember once feeling the way you do. I’m from NYC but now live in Florida, where it is near 80 today. I don’t miss a day of the cold.

  4. Gratitude helps. I followed some guided imagery chronic illness meditation on YouTube the other day, that “took me” to a nice, warm, healing place 🙂
