The month of November is National Novel Writing Month (NanoWrimo.org). The insane challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel in thirty days. Well this year mine was definitely not a novel but bits and pieces of ramblings. I must say some of them are actually pretty good.
What I’m going to share with you today was created by a writing prompt. The Writing Prompt is in all capital letters.
CONGRATS… WRITE A LETTER CONGRATULATING YOURSELF ON SOMETHING YOU DID ESPECIALLY WELL TODAY. PERHAPS IT IS STAYING ON A DIET OR AVOIDING SOMEONE WHO USUALLY GIVES YOU GRIEF OR TAKING PROCRASTINATION TO A NEW HIGH OR DOING THIS EXERCISE!
I COMMEND YOU ON THE FINE JOB YOU DID TODAY. You really pulled it out of the dumps between yesterday and today. You managed to catch up fifteen thousand words in two days. You made up your mind this morning that you were going to accomplish this for you and you’re going to do it before dinner time even hits.
You are absolutely amazing. Even without anyone caring or encouraging you. You took it upon yourself to pick yourself up and finish what you started. Even though it wasn’t important to anyone else, it was important enough to you to do it.
I am so very proud of you for stepping out of the doldrums of depression and clawing your way to the mouth of the pit to pull yourself up, stand up, and prove to yourself that you can do whatever you set your mind to. I know you never had a lot of positive reinforcement and when he offered you some you ate it up like it was oxygen. When he broke your heart and walked away and stopped talking to you it took a piece of you away. I know it felt like you would never be able to accomplish another thing, but you need to know that you can do it with or without him. He may not be in your life anymore and he may not care about what you do, but I do.
I know how strong you are. I’ve watched you battle and fight each day enduring this painful illness and many medical issues that would have left grown men crying on their knees, but you kept standing back up again. It may have taken a few months or years but you dug down deep, found your strength and stood back up again.
You are an amazing woman of strength and determination and you will go far. You can do anything you set your mind to. There is no limit to what you can achieve. Only the limits you set for yourself. Do yourself a favor and think – the sky is the limit. Don’t put limitations on yourself. Don’t think of the negative risks. Think only of the potential positive outcomes that you can achieve.
I know you can do this. You can make the second half of your life so much better than the first. Who cares if you don’t know who you are. Isn’t figuring it out half the fun. And if you don’t even know who you are, then you can be anyone you want to be and change it as each day comes and figure it out anew every moment and just enjoy what’s happening at the moment.
Just roll with it and enjoy the ride.
That’s exactly how it poured out of me. No editing. I thought it was such a fabulous letter of encouragement to myself.
CONCLUSION FOR TODAY: I just need to keep standing back up.
